Trains of the Past By Tracy

In the past, people could only use bicycles, tricyles, or other vehicles which are very slow.

In 1876, a Chinese government man named Liou Mingchuan hired a few English and German engineers to help in building the first railroad in Taiwan. Unfortunately, a fatal accident happened and the railroad was destroyed by people soon after. Later, in 1881, some English men built the second railway which was then gradually accepted by Taiwanese people.

The first locomotive worked for more than 30 years and retired in 1924. It's now in Taipei waiting for people to visit him some day.
