Shelter
In The Present
What
do you live in today? Brick houses, cement houses, apartments, cottages and
probably lots more. This is what my web page is going to be about. Shelter
in the present.
Brick
Houses
Brick houses are made of bricks and usually keep the heat in. Sometimes on
very cold nights they let the heat out though.
Apartments
Most people who work in the city live in apartments. They are close to
the cityand close to each other. They are usually made of cement and have
one or two bedrooms and one bathroom and shower.
The
apartments on the left are in Paramatta, Sydney and have great views over
Sydney Harbour. They are home to people who live and work in the city
of Paramatta or Sydney.
House
Boats
Many people live on boats. This has the advantage of making your home portable.
Also it is close to a ready supply of fresh food. You need to like fish.
Underground

In Cooberpeady, central Australia, people live in abandoned opal mines.
To add more rooms they simply dig a new cave. The reason they live underground
is that it is simply too hot on the surface. There are even underground
churches. The church on the right is about 5 metres underground and remains
cool from the 40 plus degree Australian summer. When they need more room
they simply dig out a new room.
